George Bernard Shaw's
Man and Superman played for a brief run during the
1947-48 season. The show was directed by and starred Maurice Evans (left),
shown with co-star Jack Manning. British actor Evans was known for both his
Shakespeare and Shaw pieces, but might be most recognized for creating the role
of Dr. Zaius in the 1968 film
The Planet of the Apes.
