Driving Directions

FROM THE SOUTH
(Delaware, Walt Whitman Bridge, Delaware County and Chester County via I-95)
Travel I-95 North and exit at Columbus Blvd. (exit #20). At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn left onto Columbus Blvd. towards Penn's Landing. Proceed past signs for 676 and 76. Get in left lane. Turn left at traffic light at Dock Street. Turn right on Front Street (the next street) and left onto Walnut Street. The theatre is at 9th and Walnut. Parking is available across the street and next door to the theatre.

FROM THE WEST
(King of Prussia, City Line Avenue, Valley Forge Area, or Manayunk)
Take the Schuykill Expressway (Route 76) East to 676 East (Central Philadelphia) to 8th Street Exit. At the bottom of the ramp, make a right onto 8th Street. Continue several blocks to Walnut Street and make a right onto Walnut Street. The theatre is at 9th and Walnut.

FROM THE NORTH
(Northeast Philadelphia, Bucks County and Northern New Jersey)
Take I-95 South to Exit 22 (Central Philadelphia/ 676 East). Go straight and continue straight through 6 traffic lights to Walnut Street. Make a right onto Walnut Street. The theatre is at 9th and Walnut.

FROM THE EAST
(New Jersey via the Ben Franklin Bridge)
Stay in the left lane while coming over the bridge. Exit on 8th Street (south). Continue on 8th Street several blocks until you reach Walnut Street. Make a right onto Walnut Street. The theatre is at 9th and Walnut.

FROM NEW YORK CITY
Take the NJ Turnpike South to Exit 4. Turn right off Turnpike to 73 North (Camden/Philadelphia), travel for a few miles. Take 38 West (Ben Franklin Bridge) for approx. 5 miles. Bear right at the 38/30 intersection, follow signs to Ben Franklin Bridge. Stay in the left lane while coming over the bridge. Exit on 8th Street (south). Continue on 8th Street several blocks until you reach Walnut Street. Make a right onto Walnut Street. The theatre is at 9th and Walnut.

To receive Subscriber discount:

• When entering the Parkway Outdoor Lot location, identify yourself as a Walnut Subscriber with your Subscriber Card or season tickets. You will then receive a parking ticket and a discount sticker from the attendant.
• You may go directly to the kiosk with your parking ticket and sticker before your performance to pay. You may also do this after the performance, but please be advised that there may be a line at that point.

To receive Subscriber discount:

• When entering the Parkway Walnut Towers location, you will receive a parking ticket at the entry gate. Please bring this ticket to the theatre with you.
• Upon entering the theatre and before the performance begins, present the parking ticket and your performance ticket to the Walnut Street Theatre staff member scanning your tickets to receive a discount sticker. Note: Please factor in time to receive your discount sticker in arriving early to the theatre.
• Apply the discount sticker to the back of your parking ticket per the directions on the ticket.
• After the performance, when exiting the garage at the gate, scan the front of your parking ticket first, then scan the back where the discount sticker has been placed when making your payment to apply the discount! Note: Donors receive unique discount stickers. Instructions will be sent with specific to donor benefits.

Public Transportation

Walnut Street Theatre is easily accessible via SEPTA buses and subways, Amtrak trains, and New Jersey's PATCO Speedline.

Walnut Street Theatre is located on the corner of 9th and Walnut Streets.

SEPTA
Take Septa R1-R8 trains to Jefferson Station (formerly known as Market East Station) at 11th Street. Walk east to 9th Street, make a right (south) and walk 4 blocks to Walnut Street Theatre.

• Bus stop at 8th and Walnut going SOUTH: #47

PATCO Speedline
Take the train to 9th & Locust Street stop. Walk north one block to 9th and Walnut.

Amtrak
Amtrak trains stop at 30th Street Station. Transfer to SEPTA trains and it's three stops to Market East Station (11th Street). Walk east to 9th Street, make a right and walk 3 blocks to Walnut Street Theatre.
