In October 1907 Will Rogers made a brief venture out of vaudeville and into legitimate
theatre when he performed his rope-spinning act between the acts of
The Girl Rangers.
A legend in wild west shows and vaudeville, Rogers was as popular with audiences for his
expert rope skills as he was for his wise cracks and folksy observations. Famed
cowboy and humorist, Rogers starred on Broadway and in 71 movies, wrote six books
and more than 4,000 syndicated newspaper columns, and was America's first big-time
